Sara: the series will end* with Carrie dead after having done something ridiculously dangerous for Saul ~in the name of patriotism. In the final scene, Saul removes his eyeglasses, looks somberly off into middle distance, and whispers gruffly to himself, “it wasn’t worth it.”
In other words:
Julie: The season will show some similarities to previous seasons, mostly 1 – 3. We will question Carrie’s mental state as her unwanted stay in Russian was no wellness holiday.
The talks with the Taliban won’t end as presumed (guess who’s fingers were involved)…
and surprise! Saul is captured again.
In the end Carrie will be sentenced to death as a traitor (in reality she’s the hero). Does this sound familiar?
Oh, and Dar Adal is back.
Me to myself:
Ashley: what s8
Ashley: ^^^ u can quote me
Gail: I think Season 8 will be about how Carrie comes back full circle to the premise of the show, finding herself in an eerily similar situation to Brody: back from capture, dealing with the effects of her torture/captivity, dealing with the effects that had on her emotionally – which will obviously be complicated by her illness, and questions of her loyalty and trust worthiness. Over the last few seasons we have seen her feel betrayed by the country she has served so faithfully and lost virtually everything near and dear to her. I feel like Season 8 will be her last mission (I’m 50/50 if she dies or rides off into the sunset/mental institution). Homeland loves to show both sides of a story – so I think she’ll find herself crossing enemy lines to work with former enemies (read: Haqqani) to help the greater good, probably to her demise. And as always, I’m hoping for a Javadi cameo – AND since NBC’s The Enemy Within was cancelled (such a shame, I really liked it) – I’m REALLY hopeful I’ll get a Khan cameo from my favorite, Raza Jeffrey too!
