Remembering Quinn, Always

Peter Quinn. We miss him every day. This blog will keep his memory alive, well after Homeland is over, as the character Rupert created surpassed the show itself.

Quinn represents different things to each of us: loyalty, strength, someone to channel when you’re just sick of bullshit, or a person to look to you when things get tough and you have no choice but to keep going.

What Rupert managed to do with the character I don’t think anyone imagined, least of all him. Quinn even at his snarkiest, or when he was raging with anger, was still someone you rooted for and that you truly could love. We all wanted to see Quinn get that happy ending, or that justice that he so deserved. Alas, we’re left with the memory of his beautiful character and a connection that we all share.

❤️

Peter Quinn Remembrance Day, 2019

Two years after the “death” of our beloved Quinn.

Peter Quinn will live in our hearts forever!

Wanting to do something special for the day, this is a combination of many of the gifs I’ve made over the years and a few new ones.

The History of Peter Quinn

When I first knew Quinn fell for Carrie: This scene in S3E5 “The Yoga Play” is basically Quinn telling Carrie he loves her. His love and adoration are written all over his face. It’s fully present in his voice. This is when I knew Quinn loved Carrie and would eventually die for her.

His beautiful eyes are the windows to his beautiful soul:  It wasn’t his dimpled smile, or his ginormous hands or even his strong body that drew me in and made me fall for him. It was his eyes. And not really those gorgeous, clear baby blues, but what lies beneath them — his soul. His compassion and ability to love so deeply. To be so strong, yet so vulnerable. To be tough, but tender.

Thank you, Rupert Friend, for giving us this most beloved character of Peter Quinn. He is missed, but he’ll never be forgotten. — Sydney (@snqa303)

No navy shirt of hotness in my post…I know, that’s messed up! But I wanted to talk about something else I dearly love about Quinn’s character today. Quinn was a lot of things – he was good at his job, he was extremely loyal and had a big heart. But his smart ass mouth really endeared him to me. Rupert Friend’s ability to cultivate so much empathy and levity in intense situations will always make me grateful for him and his character, Quinn. Pursed lips, a stern look, a good jaw clench, a navy button down shirt and a smart ass phrase – SO MUCH SWOON  – I love you, Quinn. For always now. – Gail @pinkys143

A Case for the White Shirt of Hotness: I know what you guys are thinking. First, “Sara, this is what you want to remember about Peter Quinn?!” To that I’ll say, there are so many things to love about Quinn, and it was hard to choose. On a day meant to celebrate his character, and after a year that was so dark in many respects, I wanted to talk about something that made me happy–that made me smile. This is when he first started to become Carrie’s partner. And that’s how I’ll always remember him.

Second, “the navy shirt is where it’s at.” Let me tell you why the white shirt should take over. First, look at that pose! He is bringing sassy, “one hand on the hip” realness. Second, it shows all the wrinkles better. Quinn wouldn’t be Quinn without those endearing shirt wrinkles. Third, he left the top few buttons undone. Just enough skin. Y’all get what I’m saying? –Sara (@carriemathison)

Navy shirt. White shirt. No shirt. It’s all hot AF!

I absolutely love this post! So great, Sara! 🙌🏻 But I will always be a navy shirt of hotness girl myself! 🤣🔥👨🏻
