I am very excited as I am off to New York next week for a one week visit. I know chances are slim but I am hoping for a Rupert sighting on the streets. I think some of you are from New York and you have posted some recommendations of things to do. Any suggestions, there is group of 6 women going for a 50th birthday celebration. Sadly I am the only Rupert fan.
Yay! A girls weekend in NYC, so much fun. I do live in New York, in Brooklyn actually and Sydney has frequented NYC many times -we recently had a girls weekend with others back in April!
Here are some suggestions for group fun (that may or may not include a RF sighting!)
Theater – Dinner before and drinks after, seeing theater in New York is a true staple of any visit. Apps like “Today Tix” offer discounted theater tickets and the deals can be even sweeter day of. Plays like The Ferryman and Hillary and Clinton have tickets as cheap as $49.
Wine Tasting and Good Eats – So much fun for a group no matter what size. The great part about wine tasting in the city is you won’t have to drive anywhere after! City Winery downtown offers wine tasting and tours of their winery 7 days a week at 4pm, I’ve
done this before and had a blast – they also have awesome food and occasional music. Another great place that does wine classes is Otto Pizzeria in Greenwich Village, the food there is amazing too.
– Ok, not sure what you ladies are up for but one of the most truly awesome times I’ve had in NYC was a tour/private party of Babeland. Babeland is sex-positive store for those (especially women) wanting to explore their
sexuality without worrying about intimidation. It’s sophisticated and high-end and truly has something for everyone.
There are also countless museums, tours, bar crawls and oodles of things to do in this amazing city. Try sites like Time Out New York (timeout.com) – this site offers a bevy of things to do in the city in all different price ranges. From food and bars to real-time events, you can find anything on this site.
If you want to try something Rupert-centric, we know he once frequented an Italian restaurant on Bond Street called il Buco, I’ve never been but it looks amazing so if you wanted to have dinner there to walk the tile floor RF once did, go for it! 😉
