Absolutely agree with that comment about the show progressing from Quinn torture porn to Carrie torture porn, Homeland has become so dark, honestly after S6 I went back and re-watched from S1 just to be reminded of times that weren’t as dark and now I feel inclined to do that again after this week’s episode :(

I don’t think that this season is particularly more psychologically harrowing for Carrie than either of the previous two, it just stands in sharp relief because Quinn isn’t around to take on his share of the torture.

At this point I feel like it should be Saul’s turn. Ever since he got kidnapped by Haqqani’s people in season four, it’s been comparatively smooth sailing.

Anyway, yes. Season one was much lighter, brighter, and all around more fun to watch. I don’t blame you for revisiting the good ol’ days.
